Dryvember’s Mocktail of the Week #4 – Cantaloupe-Ginger Spritzer
Social occasions can be pretty hard if you’re staying off the booze – sometimes the thought of sipping boring water, having a juice or a soft drink are enough to make you want to stay in.
But staying off alcohol on a social occasion, doesn’t mean giving everything up! We have gathered some of our favourite mocktail recipes, which have all the pizazz of a ‘normal’ cocktail, but none of the alcohol!
Whether you’re the designated driver, or taking full part in our #Dryvember campaign, a mocktail can be a great choice.
-Purée the melon then strain over a bowl until all the liquid has drained through.
-In a small saucepan, bring the sugar, water and sliced ginger to a boil; reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for five minutes.
-Remove from the heat and let the syrup cool completely.
-Discard the ginger pieces
-Stir the cooled sugar syrup into the melon juice.
-Fill glasses with ice; then the melon syrup and top off with soda!
-Stir each glass and garnish with melon slices and candied ginger, if desired! Beaut!
This November, take part in the #Dryvember campaign and help the Alcohol Education Trust raise £25,000 to educate children and parents on alcohol safety in the UK. Join us on our Facebook and Twitter, for some real time banter.
