Dryvember’s Mocktail of the Week #3 – Strawberry, Lemon, and Basil Soda
Social occasions can be pretty hard if you’re staying off the booze – sometimes the thought of sipping boring water, having a juice or a soft drink are enough to make you want to stay in.
But staying off alcohol on a social occasion, doesn’t mean giving everything up! We have gathered some of our favourite mocktail recipes, which have all the pizazz of a ‘normal’ cocktail, but none of the alcohol!
Whether you’re the designated driver, or taking full part in our #Dryvember campaign, a mocktail can be a great choice.
The magic ingredients:
-2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
-1 tablespoon of sugar
-6 fresh basil leaves
-5 small strawberries-save a slice for decoration!
-a pinch of salt
-ice
-3/4 cup soda water
How to make #Dryvember magic happen:
– Combine the lemon juice, sugar, basil, whole strawberries, and salt in a pint glass.
– Muddle ingredients with a muddler or spoon until the sugar dissolves completely.
– Add ice cubes and soda water and stir until the drink is chilled through.
-Strain into glasses filled with ice cubes and garnish with a strawberry slice.
-Enjoy!
