COUNTDOWN TO DRYVEMBER!

An early start today as presenting to a 6th form in London. The school has been made aware of big unsupervised parties happening during term time when students have crucial AS and A2’s to work for. It’s a very delicate balance to give information without being preachy, to avoid any personal anecdotes but to engage the students, especially at this age. So topics such as the law and buying by proxy, drink and drug driving, festivals and after exam parties are really good ways to get older students talking.

We’re able to show how drinking weekly at this age pushes down their exam grades, not surprising if you’re nursing a hangover on Sunday morning instead of writing that essay but we get them to work this out for themselves rather than telling them! Treat of the day? I knew I needed an early night as am off to Leeds very early tomorrow morning, so I tried Dr Gaye’s super porridge – made with white mulberries and banana – wheat and dairy free. I made mine with hot water ( you can use milk) and added some chopped dried apricots – it was so warming and comforting! I’m a great porridge fan and this was a different take – really good
