COUNTDOWN TO DRYVEMBER!

Fundraising ideas

Fun fundraising ideas for Dryvember

Rather than just asking friends and family to sponsor you, why not try our some of our ideas below – like a book swap evening, asking friends to contribute if you drive them home and save them a taxi fare…

Ask your employer

Office coffee morning

Ask your employer if they will match the funds that you raise for doing your Dryvember Christmas pretox challenge. They could even make a donation. Also, why not host a coffee morning for your office?

Take on a challenge!

Cycling challenge

Take on a Challenge! Sign up for a challenge event to boost your fundraising. Run, swim or cycle your way to your target!

Hold a book swap

Book swap

Invite your friends over for a book swap. They can make a donation and you can provide the entertainment.

Spread the word!

big-give

Let everyone know you’re fundraising! Add it to your email signature, post on Facebook and Twitter, put posters on your desk, print up business cards with your fundraising page, or write a letter to your Nan.

Team work!

Teamwork

How about getting people in teams and see who can raise the most and who can do the best in staying off the booze. You can all encourage and support each other.

Have a tea party

Tea Party

How about holding an afternoon tea party, complete with flavoured teas, cupcakes and cucumber sandwiches. Everyone invited could contribute a donation towards your Dryvember challenge.

Donate the cost

wine bottles

Donate the cost of the bottle of wine you are not going to drink (£5-10), or for dad’s the cost of a round at the pub with mates ( £20-30?). Or the cab fare that you won’t need now that you’re not drinking? (£15). Perhaps you could ask your mates to make a donation if you’re giving them a lift home?!

Clear out your wardrobe

Clear out your wardrobe

Clear out your wardrobe and make room for new Christmas presents!. Why not clear out the old! You can auction them on the internet or head to a car boot sale.

Tell your story!

Donations

Customise your fundraising page with the story of why you chose to do Dryvember what your goal is and progress updates on how you’re doing through the month. Add photos and a thank you to your donors too!

The money you donate will help The Alcohol Education Trust make a real difference in schools across Britain – we train teachers, reach out to parents and support pupils aged 11–18 with the talkaboutalcohol programme. Talkaboutalcohol is proven to delay the uptake of drinking among our kids – that means better GCSE results, less smoking and experimenting with other things too.
